The trek to Tungnath is relatively short but steep, taking around 3-4 hours. Upon reaching Tungnath, trekkers can continue to Chandrashila, which sits at a height of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet). During the summer months (April to June), the weather is pleasant, and the meadows are lush and green, perfect for trekking and camping. The monsoon season (July to September) brings with it heavy rains, making the trails slippery, but the entire region is covered in a blanket of greenery. The winter months (October to March) transform Chopta into a snowy wonderland, attracting trekkers for snow trekking and camping.
